About
Zach Gatto
Zach Gatto is on a continual quest for intensity. Whether he is playing bass, tuba, guitar, or composing, he always strives to create powerful music. Whether he is playing jazz, rock, or any other style of music, he always asks the question, is this as exciting as it could be?
Zach has been a musician since he can remember. He has received formal training on piano, guitar, bass, tuba, and drums. He has also taken lessons in arranging for all sorts of ensembles from small jazz combos to full-sized marching bands.
In his time in college, Zach was fortunate enough to perform with some very exciting artists including Alan Silvestri with the USC Marching Band and David Newman with the USC Concert Band. He was also given the chance to perform with Pepe Aguilar with the USC Latin Pop Ensemble.
These opportunities were afforded to Zach by his skills not only as a musician but also his abilities as a student. Just as he strives for intensity Zach is also hungry to learn. He feels both his musical and academic skills were fostered by his parents. Zach originally wanted to play music to be like his dad. His mom encouraged him to be the best at what he wanted to be, whatever that was.
Zach now lives in Los Angeles where he is always looking for interesting projects to inject a little of his own personal brand of intensity into.
